Just Friends

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, for gifting an ARC of this book (published today!) in exchange for an honest review!

This books is quite a classic story, following two long time friends, Bea and Peter.

Bea is, I feel quite a typical 30 something; she has been stuck in the same job for years without progressing, her visions of creating a card business seems to have reached a stalemate and, unlike seemingly all her friends, she is single.

Peter has been Bea’s best friend since University and is always there for Bea but firmly in the friendzone although recently he seems different? The change leaves Bea feeling more confused than ever.

Despite the obvious story line there was a lot more to the background of this story which was rather refreshing to read! I loved the development of Bea’s character through the book and the fact that she is able to do that herself, without a man on her arm. I found myself rooting for her through the story, especially towards the middle/end of the book!

This was an enjoyable read, it would be perfect for dipping in and out of as you are lazing in the garden (holidaying is off the cards I fear) as it is not too complicated to follow. However, it is fairly well paced and doesn’t seem long or drawn out at all!

Happy reading!
